Happy Baby
Look how much bigger she's getting! She's bigger than the Pooh bear now. Seems like just yesterday she couldn't even sit up next to him.

Hope's Baby Shower

Little Matthew Scott will be here in about 2 months (he may be induced to arrive on Chris' birthday!). Hope and I have already pre-arranged Matt & Ella Kate's marriage :) If nothing else, Matt's arrival will help train Meg for babysitting any of EK's future siblings!

Just some shots of EK in her high chair. She looks so cute to me with that little baby and the huge tray.

Ella Kate loves this toy! That was actually our first baby gift and it's been sitting around as decoration for about a year now. Last summer Chase tried it out for us, and he loved it, but he was 15 months at the time so I figured it'd be a while before she could play on it. She looks so big sitting on the bench and banging on the shapes and colors. In the video she "sings" along and plays accompaniment with some extra "instruments." It now ranks up there with the hoppy-frog (aka Johnny Jump Up) and Cheerios!

4th of July & Peachtree Road Race

Ooooohhhhh, Ella Kate was not a happy camper being up that early on the 4th of July! She did not exactly enjoy the festivities! But, I had a good time! I ran about 1/2 the race with my good friend, Jaime. We went to school (elementary through high school) together and have recently caught back up. It was great getting to visit while we ran. After the race (and after EK's nap) Chris, EK, and I met up with the rest of my family for a great afternoon. Of course, I left my camera in the car, so no pics of that!

Gama found this old electric key board for Ella Kate-- what a treat! It had pre-programed songs and the keys lit up when she hit them. She spent the first few minutes pushing them with her toes then her fingers. It kept her entertained all day!
We stopped at the 400 outlets on our way home from my old home. I still think it's crazy that I call Knoxville home. Ella Kate did so well while we shopped! As long as her Cheerios were in constant supply all was right with the world!

"Reading" a book while Mommy and Daddy loaded the car for our trip to Atlanta for the 4th of July. The second picture is EK on our way to dinner, but who needs dinner when you have Cheerios?!

Boat trip with the Mitchells
Meg is going to be a fantastic babysitter, and she'll have a new baby brother in about 2 months to start practicing on!
This is from a few weeks ago after church. Just some cute shots of our cute baby! Oh yeah, shoes are a relatively new thing-- these had little straps so she couldn't pull them off as easily, so they obviously became a new obsession!

Rainy day with Daddy. Notice how we can't let go of the spoon or our toes!

A crawl is upon us! We are really working hard toward this crawling thing. She'll roll across the room to get a toy, but she'll get tired of that soon. Needless to say, we will be baby proofing the house soon, like this weekend soon!
Ella Kate and her best friend, Bree, who is 2.5 months younger. So, notice that Bree is as long, if not longer, than Ella Kate. I hope EK has a growth spurt soon, or she's gonna end up like her mama, short! Now, wouldn't it figure she'd get my height genes instead of Chris' (he is 6'2"!). I am the only short one in my family, most everyone is 6'ish and they're all really tall on Chris' side. Oh well, finger's crossed!
Happy Baby
She is seriously the happiest baby ever! It's such a joy to be around her! And I LOVE that toothless big grin I get from her. Unconditional love, well at least for now. What age is it that they start to get attitude?

We've been eating a lot more solid food-- we even started Cheerios a couple of weeks ago. She sits in her high chair (thanks, Brad & Jeff!) like such a big girl. She plays with her own spoon as I feed her, so maybe she'll be doing it on her own one of these days.
